SANTINI x COFFEE BEFORE CYCLING
Ex professional cyclist Brian Megens and his partner Shivani Achrekar, driven by their passion for real coffee, baking and cycling, late last August opened Fixed Gear Coffee, their bike-café boutique in the center of Valkenburg at the foot of the Cauberg, a true icon among the famous climbs that appear throughout the calendar of races that form the Spring Classics.
The collaboration between Brian, Shivani and Santini started with the intention to create something unhindered by tradition or formality; no grand scheme, no subtext, just a slick design paired to a jersey, bibs and a cap honoring the Cauberg and celebrating the brave move these two young entrepreneurs had made, in a small way helping them bring their vision to life.
The limited edition Santini X CBC line, created to coincide with the Amstel Gold Race, is based on a model of jersey called the SLEEK 99, the exact same product that is worn by the pro riders of Trek-Segafredo. The bib shorts, taken from our REDUX range, represent the most advanced cycling short that we produce; built around our top-end C3 chamois, using a combination of manufacturing and fabrics that if anything, are beyond pro; every piece, then hand made with loving expertise in our factory in Bergamo.
