GIBUS' LEGACY: CONQUERING PARIS-ROUBAIX

The most striking moment for me — the most important one — was when I entered the Roubaix velodrome in 1992 and the fans were chanting my name — Duclos, Duclos, Duclos — in sync with my pedal strokes.
This year, we celebrate l’Enfer du Nord with a collection dedicated to one of its greatest protagonists: Gilbert Duclos-Lassalle, better known as Gibus. A true master of the pavé, he won Paris-Roubaix two years in a row, in 1992 and 1993, etching his name into cycling legend.

The collection is inspired by the iconic cobbled sector between Wallers and Hélesmes, a three-star stretch officially renamed Pont Gibus in his honor. The design of the garments faithfully reflects the colors and geometry of the level crossing that runs through it: red and white stripes, raw asphalt, and the gritty allure of steel rails — all elements that symbolize the toughness and iconic nature of this battlefield of cycling.

What makes this tribute even more special is Gibus' personal story, as he recounts with emotion his unbreakable bond with Roubaix. He recalls the roar of the crowd in the velodrome, the relief after years of attempts, the pain in his wrists, the blisters on his hands, and the pride of still being remembered by the fans. For him, winning Paris-Roubaix was far more than a sporting: it was the peak of his career, the culmination of a life devoted to cycling.
