Lizzie Deignan
Who are you, and what do you do? Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m Lizzie Deignan, professional road cyclist for Lidl Trek and British Cycling. I live and train in Yorkshire in the Uk with my two children, Orla and Shea and husband Phil Deignan. I have won World Championship titles on the track and road as well as the Women’s World Tour, Commonwealth Gold, multiple national championship titles as well as all of the monuments on the road - Flanders, Liege and the first women’s Paris Roubaix.
What is your favourite place to train, and what makes it special for you?
It has to be Yorkshire - it is home and where I grew up and first started cycling and it continues to be there place that challenges me the most with the beautiful scenery to boot!
What is your favourite Santini item, and why?
It has to be the Vega dry bib tights - they are absolutely brilliant and keep me warm and dry during the harshest of conditions on the road in the winter - I couldn’t train outside without them!
What Santini piece or accessory do you consider essential for winter?
See above but also the Vega + women’s winter jacket - especially in bright orange to make sure I am visible on the road in the winter when the light is lower. Keeps me safe as well as warm when the temperature drops.
What Santini piece or accessory do you consider essential for summer?
I actually really like the gravel women’s bib shorts as I like the pockets for training and cafe rides - really practical as well as comfy!
