DHL GoGreen Neutral Program
Santini participates in DHL's GoGreen Neutral program. This initiative is part of DHL's sustainability strategy, aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its business activities and contributing to ecosystem preservation.
Why compensate for carbon emissions?
Transportation activities are closely linked to the production of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases, which are major contributors to climate change. Global warming is an alarming reality, with 2023, 2010, 2005, and 1998 among the hottest years on record. Reducing and offsetting CO2 emissions is essential to mitigate the greenhouse effect and preserve the planet.
DHL's objective
In 2008, DHL set an ambitious goal: to improve CO2 emission efficiency by 30% globally by 2020. This commitment has been followed by concrete initiatives to calculate and offset emissions according to the GHG (Greenhouse Gas Corporate Standard) protocol. GoGreen offsets include not only direct emissions related to the movement of documents and goods but also those from suppliers and those generated by the production and transportation of fuels and energy.
Our commitment
Starting from July 1st, 2024, Santini has begun using DHL GoGreen Plus low-emission transportation services, which rely on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Although we do not yet have concrete data on the CO2 emission reductions achieved, we are confident that this step will significantly contribute to reducing our environmental impact.
We plan to closely monitor the results and share progress in the future, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices and promoting a greener, more responsible future.
